Lyrel graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. She worked in a few different fields but after working at retail stores like Rens Pets and Petsmart she knew she wanted to pursue a career involving animals. In 2019 she completed the Veterinary Receptionist program at Sheridan College.
She started as a receptionist with the Guelph Cat Clinic in 2018 and by 2020 assumed the role as Practice Manager. She spent a short time managing another companion animal hospital in 2022 and happily returned to the Guelph Cat Clinic in January 2023.
Lyrel has two mixed breed dogs named Bruno and Alaska; they each have unique medical conditions and tons of energy so they certainly keep her busy! When she isn’t working at the clinic she spends her spare time reading, baking and watching her favourite TV series.
Mason, a 2014 Registered Veterinary Technician graduate of the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus, joined the Guelph Cat Clinic in November of 2015. Prior to joining the Guelph Cat Clinic team, Mason, who has a B.Sc. (Biology) also from the University of Guelph, has worked in the radiology department of the Ontario Veterinary College as well as an exotic and small animal clinic in Waterloo. Always having an interest in feline medicine, Mason is finding the Guelph Cat Clinic a “purr-fect” fit.
Currently, Mason shares his home with his fifteen year-old, Kiki, who was found on the University of Guelph Campus. Oustide of the clinic, Mason is training in competitive kickboxing and plans to compete at both the local and provincial levels. In addition to kickboxing, Mason also enjoys rock climbing and cooking, as well as playing video games.
Michelene graduated as a veterinary technician from the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus in 2015 and joined the Guelph Cat Clinic team in the spring of 2017. It was as a mature student that Michelene, who always fascinated by animals, attended the program and truly discovered her passion was really directed towards feline medicine.
In her spare time, Michelene enjoys Table Top Role Playing games such as Dungeon’s and Dragons, as well as playing video games. She and her husband share their home with two rescue cats: Lady and Stormageddon, and their mixed breed dog Sabine.

Linoy graduated in 2017 from Trent University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. During her time in university, she gained invaluable experience working with a diverse range of animals, including small mammals, reptiles, livestock, and amphibians. Linoy furthered her knowledge by enrolling in the Masters of Animal Bioscience program at the University of Guelph where she graduated in August of 2023.
Linoy joined the Guelph Cat Clinic in October of 2022, where her dedication to feline care shines. Linoy’s deep-rooted passion for veterinary science has been a constant in her life since a young age. Her dream is to not only support but also expand her expertise through education and clinical practice. The most fulfilling aspect of her profession is actively participating in the treatment process and witnessing her patients’ healing journeys.
Outside of her job, Linoy spends time with her fiancé and two beloved Bengal cats, Keechie and Monkey. When she’s not at home, you can often find her exploring new places through her travels or with her family and friends.”

Julia recently graduated from the University of Guelph this April with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology. With a specific interest in feline medicine, she is very excited to be working at the Guelph Cat Clinic and hopes to attend the Ontario Veterinary College in the future! She has previously worked at another clinic as well as an animal shelter focusing exclusively on finding both cats and kittens a new home.
While she currently has two of her roommates cats living with her, Julia has an elderly family cat back home named Midnight. She also has a special place in her heart for Bernese Mountain Dogs, although hers are unfortunately no longer with us. During her spare time, Julia enjoys spending time with her friends, being outside especially during the summer months as well as playing hockey.
Kendra joined the Guelph Cat Clinic team in January 2022. Her love of creatures great and small has always played a major role in her life. She graduated from Queen’s Unıversity in 2008 and has a background in theatre arts and education. While studying Drama, she volunteered at the Kingston Humane Society, where she first became captivated by cats. It was there that she adopted her feline family member, Gabby. While working as an ESL teacher abroad, Kendra volunteered at an animal shelter in South Korea and cared for cats and dogs as a pet sitter in Istanbul, Turkey, where she also adopted her cat-loving dog, Leya.
She considers herself truly fortunate to be working with and learning from the knowledgeable and warm-hearted team at the Guelph Cat Clinic! There is truly no job like contributing to the well-being of our furry and fabulous friends!
In her spare time, Kendra enjoys singing and dancing shamelessly in the living room with her family, exploring the outdoors, and trying her hand at writing children’s stories. She has always fostered a deep love and respect for animals in young people, and is a proud mom to a budding young ‘‘cat-whisperer’’ and aspiring ‘‘animal rescuer.’’
Uneeb joined the Guelph Cat Clinic team in January 2022 as a receptionist and veterinary assistant. He has been working with animals since 2017, at the Toronto Wildlife Centre and a few clinics in the Greater Toronto Area before moving back to Guelph and starting here at the Cat Clinic. Uneeb grew up around many animals including rabbits, ducks, chickens, goats, sheep and cows and always had a soft spot for the feral cats and dogs he encountered when living in Pakistan.
Following his lifelong passion of working with animals, Uneeb graduated with a HBSc degree in Zoology from the University of Guelph in 2019 with aspirations to return to school for a DVM degree. When he is not working at the clinic, you may spot him longboarding around the city, spending time with his friends playing video games and cheering for Toronto sports teams.
Dabe is currently a student at the University of Guelph working toward his zoology degree. He has been working in the veterinary field for 7 years and is incredibly grateful to have joined the Guelph Cat Clinic in the summer of 2022.
He hopes to apply to veterinary school and pursue a career in zoological medicine where he can apply knowledge from both fields of study. At home, Dabe has an elderly Labrador named Kobe, a fiery Pomeranian named Rila, and a spirited rabbit named Smog.
