Receptionist/Office Manager

Lyrel joined the Guelph Cat Clinic team in May 2018 as a receptionist. She graduated from Western University with a Bachelor’s degree in communications, as well as completing Sheridan’s veterinary receptionist program. After working in pet specific retail jobs, she realized how much she loved working with animals!

At home Lyrel has 2 mixed breed dogs Alaska and Bruno, as well as her cat Snickers (and a betta fish!) In her spare time she enjoys playing with the dogs, baking, cooking and reading.

Registered Veterinary Technician

Mason, a 2014 Registered Veterinary Technician graduate of the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus, joined the Guelph Cat Clinic in November of 2015. Prior to joining the Guelph Cat Clinic team, Mason, who has a B.Sc. (Biology) also from the University of Guelph, has worked in the radiology department of the Ontario Veterinary College as well as an exotic and small animal clinic in Waterloo. Always having an interest in feline medicine, Mason is finding the Guelph Cat Clinic a “purr-fect” fit.

Currently, Mason shares his home with his ten year-old, Kiki, who was found on the University of Guelph Campus. Oustide of the clinic, Mason is training in competitive kickboxing and plans to compete at both the local and provincial levels. In addition to kickboxing, Mason also enjoys rock climbing and cooking, as well as playing video games.

Registered Veterinary Technician

Michelene graduated as a veterinary technician from the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus in 2015 and joined the Guelph Cat Clinic team in the spring of 2017. It was as a mature student that Michelene, who always facinated by animals, attended the program and truly discovered her passion was really directed towards feline medicine.

In her spare time, Michelene enjoys Table Top Role Playing games such as Dungeon’s and Dragons, as well as playing video games. She and her husband share their home with two rescue cats: Lady and Stormageddon, and their mixed breed dog: Sabine.

Registered Veterinary Technician

Sarah is an April 2020 graduate from the Veterinary Technician program at Sheridan College. She received her RVT license the following July and joined the Guelph Cat Clinic team in August. She is currently finishing her Undergraduate Degree in Biology online with Trent University. Although Sarah is passionate about all animals, she enjoys working with cats the best!

Sarah keeps busy at home with her 2 horses (Storm & B-Bop), 2 dogs (Sable & Hazel), 3 ducks (Schmicker, Chrissy, & Dr. Grant), Honduran Milksnake (Elle), and 8 kitties (Barn- Walter, Dorothy, Tom; House- Indiana Jones, Tiger, Pepper, Zephyr, & Cinderella). Her other hobbies include gardening, duck wrangling, volleyball, and horseback riding.

Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant

Melissa joined the team in May of 2021 as a receptionist and veterinary assistant. She graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science Honours in Zoology and has been working within veterinary clinics since 2013. She is a big animal welfare advocate and hopes to improve the lives of animals in her future career.

When she is not working with either cats or horses between her two clinic jobs, Melissa can be found hiking or biking the Guelph trails as a member of the Guelph Hiking Trails Club. In addition she has four animals to take care of; two cats, Marie and Belle and two Guinea Pigs, Doe and Pepper.

Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant

Emily joined the Guelph Cat Clinic team in spring of 2019 as a veterinary assistant/receptionist. She is currently completing her Bachelors of Science, honours in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph.  Emily is hoping to one day apply to the Ontario Veterinary College as she has a passion for animal care with a keen interest in feline & canine medicine and orthopaedic surgery.  Aside from working at the clinic and her studies, Emily has her own photography business in which she captures family, portrait and Gryphon graduation photos.

Currently, Emily shares her home with her ragdoll named Bagels, and has a bullmastiff named Ava waiting patiently for her return in her hometown Quinte West. Emily also enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and hiking outdoors.

Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant

Zoë recently graduated from the University of Guelph program with a HBSc double major in Zoology and Biochemistry. She began her journey out east in PEI at the AVC, but transferred back to her home province. She aspires to get back to her veterinary studies at OVC. Although Zoë loves cats, and can be found cat napping with the kitties here on her lunch, she is passionate about all animals large and small!

In her spare time Zoë find herself hiking in the wilderness with her Dalmatian Cleo, or at home studying with her foster kittens. Her other pastimes include running, painting, writing and cooking.


Cheryl joined our team as a receptionist and animal care aide in January 2009. She has four cats: Calvin, Leo, Guinness and Willy. Cheryl has a B.Sc. (Biology), B.A.hon. (Psychology & Neuroscience) and M.Sc. (Biomedical Science) from the University of Guelph. She also works at the university part time as a laboratory technician. Some of her other hobbies include playing hockey, fish keeping, playing with children, baking cheesecakes, knitting and sewing sock monkeys.


Jane joined our team as a receptionist and animal care aide in November of 2014. Jane and her two children currently share their home with Zada, a rescue border collie cross. She has a B.A. (Hons) in Fine Art from the University of Guelph. Jane enjoys a variety creative interests and spending time outdoors.

Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant

Rebecca joined the Guelph Cat Clinic team in November 2020. She graduated from Conestoga College with a diploma in Hospitality Management, and is currently finishing up her Bachelors Degree at the University of Waterloo in Liberal Studies and Human Resource Management. She worked in hospitality for many years before moving into a reception job working with animals. She now has dreams of starting a cat sanctuary in the future.

At home Rebecca has three loving cats, Caesar, Olive and Puzzle. She also fosters guinea pigs in her spare time. She enjoys spending her time watching cooking shows, eating at local restaurants, camping and travelling.
