GRAB is a non-profit animal rescue, pet fostering and placement. The Guelph Cat Clinic has been a supporting veterinary clinic to GRAB since it was established in 2007. Based in Cambridge, ON, GRAB has volunteers who offer foster care as well as care for feral in southwestern, including Guelph. Guelph Cat Clinic Helps Ensure Safe Haven for Pets
Established by the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) in 2002, the Farley Foundation provides funding for veterinary services for pet owners who could not otherwise afford such treatment. The OVMA’s SafePet is a program which assists women, who are at risk of abuse, by arranging temporary veterinary care and housing for their pets while the women are in registered women’s shelters.
Guelph Cat Clinic Helps Humane Society Fundraising Efforts
For over a hundred years, the Guelph Humane Society has been sheltering and rescuing animals in theGuelph/Wellington community. Each year the GHS care for approximately 3,000 animals in need by providing animal sheltering and adoption services as well as veterinary care. Funds are raised through private funding and public donations. The Guelph Cat Clinic is a supporter of the society’s annual auction. The Guelph Cat Clinic also offers a complementary exam within the first week a cat is adopted from the society.
Students Enjoy Experiential Learning at Guelph Cat Clinic
The Guelph Cat Clinic supports experiential learning in an animal hospital environment at both the high school and post secondary level. By hosting Grade 11 and 12 pupils, as part of the co-operative program offered by the Wellington Catholic District School Board and Upper Grand
District School Board, the clinic helps high school students connect what they are learning in school while acquiring job readiness skills.
Guelph Cat Clinics Plays Host to Veterinary Students
The clinic also plays host to fourth-year students from the Ontario Veterinary Collegeas part of their external electives. The elective week externship provides students with the opportunity to experience being part of a team providing health care services to cats. Educating young veterinarians about feline medicine and how to provide a positive veterinary experience for cats is very important to us.
The Guelph Cat Clinic Joins Adopt-a-Family Program
The Guelph Food Bank assisted approximately 75,000 individuals last year. Food Bank Clients vary in age and ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common: they are all faced with financial hardship. At Christmas time, the Guelph Cat Clinic participates in the Adopt-A-Family program to give support and a merry Christmas to families in need.
Supporter of Zonta Club’s Betty Thompson Golf Classic
The Guelph Cat Clinic sponsors a hole at the annual tournament, now in its 15th year, which honors Betty Thompson, a Zonta Club member and local TV celebrity who died of breast cancer in 1992. In the past 14 years, the tournament has raised over $358,000. This year proceeds from the tournament will be distributed to: Canadian Cancer Society Breast Cancer Research; Guelph Wellington Women in Crisis; Sexual Assault Violence Program at Guelph General Hospital and Local projects improving the health of women.

The Salvation Army is a community of faith that thinks with the mind of Christ, loves with the heart of Christ, and serves with the hands of Christ. Its Community and Family Services provides a variety of social programs and services to those in need. The Guelph Cat Clinic supports the Salvation Army with financial donations.
