Our Veterinarians

Dr. Jocelyn Maggs

Veterinarian

A 1985 graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College, Dr Maggs’s dream of becoming a veterinarian began in high school. At that time she considered herself a dog person. In the years after graduating from vet school, however, the pet population at her house mysteriously changed to 4 cats and 0 dogs, and a new cat person was born. Those 4 cats taught Dr. Maggs how varied cat’s personalities can be, and the idea of focusing exclusively on feline medicine developed. Working as a vet at the Guelph Animal Hospital since 1988, the opportunity to purchase the Guelph Cat Clinic came in 1995.

Being a cat vet is never boring – each day brings different cats with different issues. Feline behaviour is a particular interest for Dr Maggs. She attends the AAFP conference each year to stay current on the latest developments in feline medicine. Her goal is to always work together with owners to determine the best treatment plan for any cat who is sick or has behavioural issues.

Dr Maggs lives in Guelph with her husband Al and daughter Maddy. Currently  Dr. Maggs shares her home with 1 Devon Rex cat, Middy, 2 Domestic Shorthairs, Jazzy and B.C and 1 dog, Tao. In her spare time, she is an avid gardener who enjoys swimming, walking and cycling. She is also an aspiring kite boarder.

Dr. Sarah Macgregor

Veterinarian

Dr. Sarah Macgregor graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1997. She always knew she wanted to be a vet, and growing up in Guelph, she did not have to go far for university! After graduation, she moved to Toronto and worked with a variety of species, including reptiles, birds, and pocket pets, as well as cats and dogs. She is very excited to be back in Guelph pursuing veterinary medicine in a clinic devoted to feline patients. Dr. Macgregor has a special interest in feline behavior and palliative care.

She and her husband are kept busy with their senior cat Capri, young daughter, Vera and their new baby boy, Thomas. In her spare time, she enjoys tennis, hiking, and wildlife travel.

Dr Isabelle Farly

Veterianarian

Dr. Isabelle Farly graduated from the University of Montreal in 1999 and completed an internship in small animal medicine/surgery in Chicago the following year. She always had a great love for cats and jumped at the opportunity to join a cats-only veterinary clinic near Washington DC in 2001. She has worked exclusively with cats ever since. Dr. Farly understands how difficult and stressful it is to get your cat to the vet and she will work with you to minimize your cat’s anxiety. She also believes strongly in preventative health care and annual visits, since cats are notorious for hiding illness.

Two very fluffy cats keep her company at home. Fred, a tan and white Selkirk Rex, is constantly at play and loves exploring closets. Hugo, a charcoal Persian Cross, loves to snuggle against mommy whenever she sits down. Dr. Farly enjoys all things sci-fi and is learning how to draw in her free time.
